As a co-founder, Executive Chairman and Chief Design Officer of Ministry of Supply, Gihan Amarasiriwardena shapes the company’s products and brand, bringing his background in science and technology to create high-performance products for the modern man. After earning his S.B. in chemical and biological engineering from MIT and conducting research at the Sports Technology Institute in the UK and product design at IDEO, Gihan co-founded Ministry of Supply to bring a high-tech vision for menswear to life. Ministry of Supply is a performance menswear brand founded in 2011 in Boston, MA. Launching in 2012 with the Apollo Dress Shirt, MoS broke records with its new approach to professional essentials, that use engineering & human-centered-design to create garments that empower the individual through their work day.
Lead Designer, Final Frontier Design, USA
After receiving a Masters of Aeronautical Engineering from the Moscow Aviation Institute in 1986, Nikolay was quickly hired at Zvezda, the Soviet/Russian space suit provider. In 2006, Nik left Zvezda as lead space suit designer for commercial space opportunities, to act as Cofounder and Chief Engineer of Final Frontier Design, a Brooklynbased spacesuit company that was awarded a NASA Space Act Agreement in 2014. His continued goal is to have his suit designs walk on Mars. He holds four space suit design patents and numerous publications on space suit related topics.

Ted Southern, President of FFD, artist, and designer, began his career in aerospace by entering the NASA Astronaut Glove Challenge in 2007 as part of his MFA thesis at Pratt Institute. In 2009, Ted and Nik took home a cash prize and created FFD from the winnings. Prior to space, Ted’s work focused on technical garments for movies, theatre, and television including wings for Victoria’s Secret and costumes for Cirque du Soleil.

Gregory J. Bannister is currently the Chief Operations Officer at Sport Obermeyer. He was hired in April of 2012 specifically to select a new business system and to implement process changes throughout the company. Gregory holds a Technical Degree in Electronic Technology and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Utah. At Sport Obermeyer, Gregory lead the effort to significantly improve margins on all product lines, reduce excess inventory and SKUS then specified and implemented four integrated business systems (ERP, PLM, SCM and WMS). Concurrently, he architected the necessary process changes to match the new business systems. As a result, within two years Sport Obermeyer is once again a profitable company with a solid foundation for the future. Prior to joining Sport Obermeyer, Gregory was the CIO/COO at Jore Corporation located in Western Montana. His accomplishments at Jore Corporation includes bringing the company to profitability, transitioning a weak industrial product line to 60% of sales and controlling cost by installing a shop floor management system tightly integrating with the business system. He also reduced inventory from $17.5 million dollars turning once a year to under $4m turning six times a year.

Craig Crawford is founderpreneur of Crawford IT, a London-based consulting firm specialising in the digital transformation of brands. Formerly at Burberry, as the VP IT Strategy, Architecture & Relationships, Craig led the deployment of PLM, the development of the collaborative social enterprise Burberry World, the introduction of 3D and hologram technologies, the transformation of Retail Technology, and Runway to Reality allowing consumers to buy direct from the runway. Craig has also lead digital initiatives at Tory Burch, Liz Claiborne and Gap.

He worked as an SAP Consultant at Triumph International in Munich, Germany with a focus on Production, Planning and Production Execution. Previously he served as a Business & Project Manager at Triumph International in Hong Kong where he led global product development projects in Asia & Europe and as Head of Product Development sloggi GWF at Triumph International in Vienna, Austria.

Mike Gawtry is the Director of the Sporting Equipment, Travel and Innovation at L.L.Bean. In this role, Mike is responsible for the merchandising and product development for all sporting goods, packs, luggage and travel accessories. He also manages company-wide innovation and field-testing efforts, which include identification of advanced concepts in material, technology and functionality.

As Vice President for IDC Retail Insights, Leslie Hand is responsible for the research direction for IDC Retail Insights, an IDC industry business unit that provides global, fact-based research and analysis on best practices and the use of information technology that assists clients in improving their capabilities in key process areas. She works with retailers and technology providers on developing best practices and strategies, aligned with where they are, and where they want to go, leveraging IDC quantitative and qualitative data sets. Before joining IDC, Ms. Hand spent 28 years in the retail industry, with 5 years in operations and 23 in retail information technology and technology strategy. While in retail operations she managed stores and was instrumental in defining new customer centric and more efficient operational processes. While in retail technology she has guided strategy, technology selections, development, implementation and support efforts for the full gamut of retail technologies, in a variety of retail segments that include grocery, drug store, and specialty. Leslie likes to say that she will always be a retailer through and through, but in her current role she now has the opportunity to work for many top retailers and the technology providers that serve them. Leslie won many quarterly research awards and IDC's most prestigious and highest honor for research excellence, The James Peacock Award, in January 2013. Ms. Hand is a frequent speaker at industry and technology vendor events and is regularly quoted in the business, technology, and trade press. She holds a bachelors degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Brandy Hansen is the VP of Technical Design for Abercrombie & Fitch. Brandy leads a team responsible for the fit, function and product consistency of the Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie kids, and Hollister brands. In this role, a key focus is partnering with the cross functional leadership teams to establish the most efficient processes to yield the highest quality product at the best value and quickest timing. The use of a PLM system plays a key role in meeting this objective. Brandy has been integral in implementing two different PLM systems over her career, and is currently embarking on a project to integrate more parts of the organization into PLM.

Anne Sanger began her career as a dress designer for Liz Claiborne, where she was recruited to participate in one of the industry's first PLM system implementations. She parlayed her experience as an end-user in design and product development to begin a career specializing in product technology, working with such top brands as Laura Ashley, Polo Ralph Lauren, Express, Victoria's Secret and the Limited to redefine systems and process in this space. Bob Stevens joined Nine West Holdings (NWH), formerly Jones Apparel Group, in 2008 as the Senior Director of Design and Pre-Production Systems, and since then he’s led various software implementation projects. Currently, he’s in the process of implementing Centric’s PLM solution. Prior to Centric, Bob’s projects included working with Siemens Teamcenter, where he oversaw its adoption throughout various companies within the Jones Apparel Group. Jimmy Summers is the Vice President of Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability at American & Efird LLC, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of sewing thread, embroidery thread and technical textiles. Ann Cantrell is an Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in the Fashion Business Management Department. She holds a MBA with a concentration in Sustainability and teaches classes on Sustainability in Fashion Merchandising at FIT, along with Retail Management, Trend Forecasting and Leadership. Her store, Annie's Blue Ribbon General Store in Park Slope, Brooklyn has been a go-to shopping destination for almost nine years. Tim Williams studied Retail Management at the University of Surrey and immediately afterwards started with an airline software company in a junior sales role. Seeing the company grow and then be acquired by a global services company gave him the appetite to build his own business.
After a four year term at a large global software company, now part of Dell where he looked after key accounts, he and his business partner Tom established Luma, a tech company focussed on creating interactive experiences for brands. In 2013 they created YR Store after coming up with a great concept that made the most of a trend for large, bold prints on t-shirts and other items.
YR Store is a custom fashion brand where consumers can create designs quickly and easily using large touchscreens in store or at events. This is then printed, live, in front of the consumer. The design process is fun, and YR Store have pioneered involving the consumer in creating truly bespoke designs quickly and simply.
YR Store has collaborated with brands and retailers including Liberty, Selfridges, Nike, Google, Bathing Ape and Star Wars and runs its own stores in London and New York inside the flagship Topman and Topshop stores.

Soon Yu served as the Global VP of Innovation at VF Corporation - parent organization to over 30 well known apparel companies, including The North Face, Vans, Timberland, Seven for All Mankind and Wrangler - until September 2016. Yu had responsibility to strengthen VF’s overall innovation capabilities and support VF’s portfolio of brands in their innovation efforts.
